Yesterday, we had to figure out how to combine a “property transfer” statement — happens when a final water meter read is performed as you near closing on selling your house — with a property transfer fee statement. You cannot sum the fee and the statement into one total. That’s because a fee is not a water bill. You have to remit payment to separate entities.
Hopefully, by combining both on one statement with clear directions on where to send the separate payments, everything will (almost) turn out all right.
