It happens every year, like clockwork. The floor above us gets washed and waxed. We work in an older building, and occasionally there are leaks. My office shares the wall that has the leak. My computer equipment backs up to that wall. Well, this year there was a little more water than in previous years, more water and a little more wax
The day after the floor was washed I looked up and saw that one of my technical calendars helped take some of the brunt of the wax, which in part spared my electronic equipment. It happened to be the Linux Journal calendar. Paraphrasing Homer Simpson, Linux, the Linux Journal, and the Linux Journal calendar, is there anything they can’t do? And, fortunately, other than a wax splattered monitor that survived, there were no equipment casualties.
