Clojure GUI Applets

In Star Wars Episode I, The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon Jinn told Obi Wan that they would wait for the force to present an opportunity to them. And that is what happened this week.

I have been wondering where to introduce Clojure. Well, small GUI applets presented themselves. There is a need in a lot of our municipal departments for simple utilities — applets by any other name — that perform one or two tasks, need an interface better than a command line, but do not require the investment of a substantially complicated UI or a web application.

Consider auditing an electronic employee insurance bill with its list of subscribers against the benefits application’s list of subscribers. And how will this be implemented? Why it will be Clojure and Seesaw.
