On August 10, 11, and 12th, LinuxCon was held at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston, MA. I have never attended a Linux conference, though I hear about them a lot.
Other than an experienced consultant, I am the sole maintainer of our Linux servers, so my goal was to pick up any new information available. Instead, a wealth of interesting topics awaited me including two back-to-back database talks, the latter from Monty Widenius on MariaDB. There was also an informative and humorous discussion on Ubuntu, Fedora, and Open SUSE desktop distributions, git, and Open Stack.
The conference was friendly and informative, and I am glad to have attended.
